Wow this is kind of weird. Woke up to a puddle in the kitchen and some dripping in the basement. Pulled the fridge out and inspected stuff. There was a pinhole leak in the copper water line going to the fridge!! WTF? That line is...5 years old?
Anyway, I bought a 15 ft water line kit from Home Depot for about $25 and it had everything I needed to fix this. I cut the line in the basement because I wasn't going to deal with a second pinhole leak behind the fridge. Used a compression coupling union to join the old line to the new line. The kit also came with the right nut to screw into the water valve of the fridge. Pretty simple stuff.
I guess it is good for another 5 years? If this happens again I guess I will switch to either plastic or MAYBE stainless braided but not sure.
