1. Automakers: Bring back CD players
I didn't realize we lost them. I don't use them but I guess I didn't expect to lose the capability, either. Depending on how you connect your phone to your vehicle, and your music source (and the phone itself), and of course the quality of the audio system, a [well-mastered] CD may offer startling quality compared to what you have gotten used to. Many audio nerds fawn over 320kbps and lossless file formats but often most of us are listening to LESS than CD quality.
2. Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis: Shoot for better fuel economy
Snooze.
3. Infiniti: The QX50 needs a new transmission
I've heard this or read this. Still snooze.
4. Nissan: Update the Z or introduce an affordable, sporty car
OK. But seriously, Nissan's seeming refusal to do this to a vehicle as iconic as the Z speaks volumes about current market trends.
5. Jeep: 4WD or GTFO
Haha, yeah I would agree.
6. Automakers: Bring back front bench seats
He has a point on the shifter thing (i.e. you could do it) but this is the dumbest idea ever. Having a middle front passenger is cool only as a romanticized idea of 50s and 60s driving. It was cool before seatbelts and stuff. Benches have ZERO lateral support. And a full bench would require the front passenger and driver to have the exact same seating position. No arm rest. It is a stupid, throw-away idea.
7. Subaru: More power, please!
They can't for two reasons: fuel economy and head gaskets. I'm not sure I'm really kidding that much on either of those.
8. FCA: Keep working on that nine-speed
FCA, keep working on everything. I mean, their muscle type stuff is good I guess. I wouldn't look to that segment for future growth or sustainment though.
9. Automakers: Give us better sun visors
This seems to be a short, female thing....the tinted band at the top of the windshield is never inadequate.
10. Toyota and Lexus: Redesign your infotainment systems
Are these the same people who refuse to adopt the Android Auto and Apple Carplay stuff? I don't know what their deal is...
