Spoilers: this one was caused by mice.
Someone in the comments said several years ago it turned out that Honda used some environmentally friendly wire insulation made from soy that mice just LOVED. So they started making special tape with capsaicin in it which apparently the mice won't chew. Now that is interesting. Maybe we should get some of that just to have on hand...P/N in the video.
