Eh. I think I will always resist these. They are great for hauling people and/or stuff, and the entire platform is made to cram the drivetrain in the corner of the vehicle so you can haul more people and stuff. This is all the anti-Christ if you are a car guy, imo. I like my vehicles interesting and with compromise. My favorite compromise is fuel economy. I love daily driving a V8.

12.5 MPG observed! Might as well just drive a Tahoe.
I will resist this as well. If I had to go there, I think the Odyssey is the least objectionable in the class. People who I know who have vans say they are great for hauling stuff, but the dynamics are just so poor. The only late model van I have driven is a Chrysler Town and Country rental and I would rather have just about anything on the lot.

I will never understand these.
What/how many people are you hauling? Unless you have 4 kids, a full sized car should be good. Not enough room to cart stuff around? Get a full sized wagon. It will likely have a V8 and handle way better than one of these road whales.
This is the perfect appliance if you hate driving and have kids.
The full sized SUV is marginally better, but it seems ridiculous to have a truck to carry a bunch of 8 year olds weighing in at like 250 lbs.
I have also heard "well what if we have 3 kids and their friends want to go somewhere?" - Take 2 cars.

I have never been a proponent of buying a vehicle for the 1% usage case, but many Americans seem to use this to rationalize purchases like this.
