I think it'll still make it to 300k, so I can do my donuts on video. In Mexico on a private road.

What's sort of humorous is I always thought the best WOT shift on this transmission was the 2-3. The WOT 1-2 was always soft. And the WOT 3-4 sometimes doesn't even work. I can make the torque converter clutch slip just by applying too much throttle in 4th gear on the highway.

Yeah this trans has been wearing out for, well, like 100k.

My Caprice had a shift flare problem for a couple weeks. Then it wouldn't shift into 3rd or 4th gear correctly. Then I replaced the transmission.

It's been "normal" this week so far.

It's funny - you get a car to 300k and you start to take it for granted.

Furrin' options include:

Love the E38 7-series with M Sport package. This one seems pretty clean except for a small dent on the hood. Nice expensive list of replaced stuff, too. I think my ideal E38 would be a 740iL with M Sport, which BMW did not make to my knowledge but someone else probably has put one together. And no, I don't like the 750. I'm not a masochist. Although upgrading from a V8 to a V12 seems...awesome. I think they are big problems.

On the Ford front, let me just say that a P71, Marauder or even Lincoln LS would be reasonable fits. But don't go there. Not interested. I would sooner drive an E38, seriously. Plus this is a furrin' post.

I like the Jag XJR but that's a nope.

I like the W-140 S-class

I like the Q45. Preferably the first gen.

There is the LS400.

Wow I almost didn't click on this.

93 FWB...but you have to read the description.

To his credit, the air intake lid on the 93 already looked like there was a carb under there...

So here's an option. 93 FWB, eventual powertrain swap.

Or...90-92 Brougham and eventual powertrain swap. Too bad those are still worth something. Plus no airbags is kind of rough...

So much want.

Up to $15,200 with 2 days left, reserve not met. Oy. Probably one of the most desirable configurations also. Black/black, D'Elegance, wire wheels.

Yeah these are a little steep for me.

At least this one has BFG Radial T/As for (no) traction.
