Not a review of the system obviously. And plenty of BOSE hate in the comments.
C/D: Cadillac CT6 Bose Panaray system
Re: C/D: Cadillac CT6 Bose Panaray system
I had 4 interior speakers and 2 subs that were probably better than this over speakered bullshit.
It wasn't all bass either. I am very into audio, and everyone that heard my setup said it was the best, balanced car radio they had ever heard.

Re: C/D: Cadillac CT6 Bose Panaray system
I like aftermarket audio but I also like factory premium systems. And you don't need two subs to be "balanced."
Re: C/D: Cadillac CT6 Bose Panaray system
I had an $1,100 premium Xtant amp and Polk Momo interiors. Any Audiophile respects Polk. I had a true 75 watts per interior speaker, which is insane. The speakers also had crossovers and tweeters. I had a true tweeter, mid-range and sub system. The subs were 12's, not 15's which means they were focused and tight, not over reverberating like 15's. I "only" had 300 true watts to the subs (150 each), which was plenty. No premium system has come close, and that was 10 years ago.
Re: C/D: Cadillac CT6 Bose Panaray system
I know. I meant balanced between highs, mids and lows. Not symmetric, even numbered speakers. Most aftermarket systems, almost all aftermarket systems were unbalanced, with WAY too much bass.
Re: C/D: Cadillac CT6 Bose Panaray system
Polk is good. I think I have some coaxial Boston Acoustics speakers in my caprice. 6x9s on the rear shelf (may be needing replacement actually) and the fronts were 4x6s stock. I built an MDF baffle and fit 6.5s in there. One 12" ported sub with a modest 300W.
I also had some Boston Acoustics in my 95 Z28 with a sealed 10" sub (form fitted box for the hatch area) and that system sounded really good for what it was. I even tried to build my own RTA to tune the system. I like audio but the kind of music I listen to isn't the kind you rock out to in front of the speaker tower at a concert, so I don't need that kind of SPL in my car, either.
The BOSE system in that black 96 Maxima SE sitting in front of my house is still a great sounding system, even after 19 years, which is incredible. No subs but it still produces pretty strong bass. Mulligan can vouch for it. It's not going to crush your chest or anything but it sounds good.

Boston's are also excellent, I think they were the only ones in the running when I put that system together.
Funny Fact:
The magnet on the Polk Momo is massive for the speaker. For my friends door speakers to fit, I had to cut sheet metal inside the door for the magnet to fit. They sounded great.

Re: C/D: Cadillac CT6 Bose Panaray system
I think I went with the Momos over the Bostons because they had true component 5x7's, with crossover, and the tweeter was built in, so I didn't have to cut my interior for the tweeters. I ran those in the front and back.
Re: C/D: Cadillac CT6 Bose Panaray system
I was also a bit of a Cerwin Vega nerd (for subs, and I also have a set of their E-312 3-way tower speakers).
I did have plans to do more audio and in fact have a (cheap) 4 channel amp in my basement that I never installed in my caprice, because I didn't feel like running new speaker wire.
I like the look of a stock system and the better stock systems have typically worked out for me. Obviously my Caprice came with a really shitty system being a police car, so I had to do something. The Z28's wasn't very good, either.
