Can this save Lincoln? Word is it's based on an enlarged Fusion platform.

I really think Cadillac pinned this design. The overall shape is elegant without forsaking the corporate identity and reads as a contemporary design. The waterfall DRL's are an interesting touch, but I guarantee they're absolutely striking at night or when contrast with a dark paint color. I can't speak for everyone obviously, but as an early 30's individual of means, if I were in the market for a larger premium sedan, it would be a toss up between the CT6 and a Model S. I may be the fringe, but they offer a fresh alternative to the "Name+L+V8" flagship equation.

Also, in my unprofessional opinion, this eats the face off the Lincoln Continental Concept... or should I say the Bentley Flying Spur with a Lincoln badge and a KIA Tiger nose grill?
Don't forget about the Audi A8-L side profile.

How is the Continental concept "so Lincoln" if it's copying everything BUT Lincoln? Whereas the CT6 actually looks like a Cadillac. Strange world.

The Lincoln Continental concept previews the upcoming MKS replacement, which will be based on an extended version of the Ford Fusion’s front-drive platform. A slightly larger, rear-wheel-drive sedan with a fast roofline, which was to be based on the Ford Mustang, has been axed.
Why are people impressed with the Continental concept again?

I am going to stay to my original opinion. I think the exterior looks awesome, and is the best looking car Lincoln has made since the LS.

I think they did a great job of making the 90's look, but modernizing it. I would prefer a late 60's, and RWD, but they picked 90's.

Gotta say, if I was alive in the 60's to understand first hand the awesomeness of what the Continental was then, I think I would have been more mad about the 97 than the new concept:

The new concept doesn't have enough angles if it is supposed to evoke the 60s ones. Which is one reason I've mostly been a fan of the Cadillac Art & Science theme (since the 2003 CTS). It seems like everything (Japanese and European cars) are all mostly a collection of curves whereas Cadillac still uses angles.

Agreed on all accounts.

Just to clarify though, they weren't trying to use the 60's version for the concept. I was saying that it would have made for a cooler concept if they made a modernized 67 instead of the 97.
