Storm outage 3/17/26

Post by kevm14 »

Around 2:45am or maybe closer to 2:30am. Got up and connected generator by 3am. It was very windy. I actually woke up and heard the wind, and thought "next gust and that's it.". It wasn't that many more gusts.

Fortunately the tank was full or nearly so. 5 hours more runtime and it'll need another oil change. It'll probably need fuel by noon.

Down for gas, checked out (perfect level, only 3 hours to go to next oil change), and back up at 11:45am.

Here are the stats for 3am to 11:35 am or so.

Went on my walk but I guess power came back around 12:10pm. Shut it down around 12:45pm. Another nearly full tank for storage which isn't a bad thing until I go more than a year without using it and then I start to become uncomfortable. But that's for future me to deal with. I'm probably down to ~6 gallons of gas on hand.

This was from a bit before I got gas. Kind of amusing. Leaves covering the cooling fan intake.

72 hours on the clock. Due for oil change by 75 so that'll be fun to remember next power outage. Or I could change ahead of time.
