Looking for some good stuff to keep the car clean.
Found this:

The first question is priceless.
I've heard good things about the Gold Class Car Wash. Not sure about all of this though. I am probably not going to do anything with the tires as I don't think having them shine will make it look better.
Also, for wax right now, I think I am leaning towards the Meguiars Ultimate Liquid Wax since you don't need to power buff it out.

So I need soap, wax, and something for the leather. And wash/dry rags. Any recommendations?
Car Cleaning/Detailing
Re: Car Cleaning/Detailing
Another option is to go to a do it yourself carwash with a bunch of quarters and wash it and spray on the wax there. Then I guess I would just need towels?
Only problem is the hood probably shouldn't get waxed and it will be hard to not get it sprayed. I have also heard this isn't the best way to wax a car.
I don't want to spend hours on this, just want to have it reasonably clean and protect the paint.

Re: Car Cleaning/Detailing
I have used Meguiars Gold Class for years. I assume it is good.
I don't wax anything these days. If i could figure out how to shorten my wash cycle I might have time for more waxing.
I think the key to shortening the cycle is get out of those whole car foaming guns, foam the entire car then wash it all at once and do a single rinse. The way I usually do it is pretty conventional. I wash one area at a time, rinse, move on. I go from the top down. I have a pure water rinse bucket for the mitt so the soap bucket stays as clean as possible (and the level gets drawn down rather than just being slowly diluted with dirty water).
I have a pressure washer which I sometimes use. It seems good for wheels/tires. I use Eagle One A2Z cleaner spray for wheels and tires (soak, wash, rinse). No dressings.
The power washer advantage is it uses far less water and has a much stronger cleaning effect, depending on what you are doing (i.e. brake dust).
But yeah I need to look into the foam gun stuff. There are plenty of youtube guys who have been doing this so I guess we should watch some and see how good it looks. May require special soap but that is fine.

Re: Car Cleaning/Detailing
For wax I have stuck with Meguiars #26 which seems to not cause nearly as many problems on black trim and stuff like that. There are various machines you can use to apply and then microfiber to buff. There is also the entire segment of paint correction which is a whole different conversation. There are also polish waxes (colored waxes) and light polishes that you can use BEFORE waxing. There are a ton of ways. Oh, also clay bar which I think cars like my STS could really use. Maybe less so stuff like my CTS-V which does not sit in the elements much.
Power washer is also good to blast out some wax residue around crevices (on the next wash).
