This is a good car. It's not perfect but other than seats and maybe a few interior bits, I don't think the ConFusion has anything on this car. The platform matters. Omega is leading edge stuff. I think this is bigger and lighter than the Fusionental, too.
Subaruwrxfan: Cadillac CT6 3.0TT Platinum
Re: Subaruwrxfan: Cadillac CT6 3.0TT Platinum
This sounds like it does everything the Continental is supposed to do (it may even ride better) but also retains all the athletic sophistication imparted by a premium platform, which you cannot fake.
Re: Subaruwrxfan: Cadillac CT6 3.0TT Platinum
The Continental is suffering from being rushed to market. Lincoln is a joke. They have essentially made nothing since the 90's Town Car. Ford suffers from desperately wanting a luxury brand but not being able to style a Lincoln that anyone even wants to look at let alone think about buying.
Fast forward to the Continental prototype. They did it! The car looks great. Unfortunately they got so excited that they just threw something together to get it to market instead of designing it from the ground up. I saw one driving. It really does look nice. Hopefully they figure out the drivetrain.

2019 Sport. He still likes it and discusses some of the updates.
I really want the V which hasn't even been released yet but I think a much more realistic goal would be a Platinum 3.0TT AWD. Of course the Platinum 3.0TT is barely less expensive than the V but will probably depreciate significantly while the V may not.

The 2016 does these numbers with the 8-speed:
If I can find numbers on the 2019 it will be interesting to see if the calibration is improved or if the 10-speed helps that. But going from 5.0 to 6.7 on the 0-60 to 5-60 is pretty bad. I really like my snap so this may be unsat.

2019 brings the 10 speed.Fuel Economy and Real-World MPG
Among the lightest cars in its class and lacking optional V-12 power, the Cadillac CT6 unsurprisingly is among the most efficient. Every CT6 we've tested has exceeded its EPA-estimated highway fuel economy in our real-world fuel-economy test. Curiously, the higher-powered twin-turbo V-6 managed a 30-mpg result in our testing while the non-turbo 3.6-liter V-6 eked out only 28 mpg.

The 2016 does these numbers with the 8-speed:
C/D TEST RESULTS:
Zero to 60 mph: 5.0 sec
Zero to 100 mph: 12.2 sec
Zero to 140 mph: 26.6 sec
Rolling start, 5-60 mph: 6.7 sec
Top gear, 30-50 mph: 3.1 sec
Top gear, 50-70 mph: 3.5 sec
Standing ¼-mile: 13.5 sec @ 105 mph
Top speed (governor limited, C/D est): 155 mph
Braking, 70-0 mph: 152 ft
Roadholding, 300-ft-dia skidpad: 0.86 g
13.5 @ 105 is more or less what my CTS-V does. Maybe a touch slow on the trap. The massive off-boost turbo lag is disappointing (it is a 3 liter engine with 404 hp after all) but that was the 2016. The HP peak is at 5,700. In 1995 the Nissan VQ30DE made 190 hp @ 5,600 on a 3.0L V6. Granted this has some much more modern stuff on it but the low RPM suggests that this V6 probably wouldn't make a TON more than 190 hp without the turbo, at least at that low RPM (GM did have a 3.0 V6 in the 2010 timeframe that made 270 hp but that was at 7,000 rpm, no exaggeration). So imagine trying to use a turbo to go from ~200hp to 400hp. Not sure how there wouldn't be lag.TEST NOTES: There's major turbo lag in the rolling 5-60 run. Stomp the accelerator and not much happens; the V-6 takes its sweet time building boost and rpm. Holding the engine against the brake mitigates lag by allowing the engine to build boost before the launch.
If I can find numbers on the 2019 it will be interesting to see if the calibration is improved or if the 10-speed helps that. But going from 5.0 to 6.7 on the 0-60 to 5-60 is pretty bad. I really like my snap so this may be unsat.

I guess these 2019s are making the press fleet rounds. I need CT6-V content, stat.
This car is pretty awesome.
