We talked about this before, I think. It is not a way to identify a 1LE. It is a way to take a known 1LE, and decode the VIN, if that makes sense. In other words, S probably means 1SS manual (regardless of 1LE or not). Once you know you have a 1LE, you can follow this to decode the VIN. Which means the most you can do with this is find something that can't possibly be a 1LE (i.e. the K or J engine code, which would never appear in a real 1LE). But you can't confirm a 1LE using this method.
