No one responded to my CTS-V analogy but you could make the argument that the V2 is $10-13k better than the V1 while the gen 6 SS is $8k better than the gen 5 SS. I think it is kind of all over the map though because some of the ways the gen 6 improves on the gen 5 is actually outside of numbers, even while the numbers themselves ARE also better. But the 1/4 mile for example is closer between the Camaros than it is for the V1 to V2.

I guess there is also looks... I think the V2 is nicer interior and exterior, and performance, where the Camaro is more... complicated. The gen 5 probably has a slightly bigger backseat which could be the difference of totally unusable (gen 6), and a kid could actually fit (gen 5). I think the exterior of both is good, but the gen 5 is more muscular and less "sporty" which I think is a plus for the gen 5 (I can see the argument either way as the gen 6 looks good), but up for debate. Performance wise, the gen 6 is better. Period. So it is complicated. The V2 was better at everything, the Camaro is a little different, and the delta is almost 10K difference when you take averages of gen 5 to gen 6. I just happened to find a couple cheap gen 6s that are skewing the average. 10 K is a lot. Like a gen 5 plus a Monte and IROC, or a gen 6... And the MOnte and IROC are just examples. There are other options like a Fiero, money for upgrades, a cheap manual to get good on, an RX-8 that needs an LS, so many options... 30K is a lot to tie up in 1 car.

The only thing anyone would really prefer the V1 for from a spec standpoint is the lighter weight vs the V2. But even then it seems the car still does everything better than the V1 (definitely fuel mileage but I don't know if that is particularly relevant - it could be as a daily I guess). The V2 received more consistently excellent reviews than the V1, as there was less to apologize for. I mean it was arguably better than the E60 M5 which was widely praised as the last good M5 before this very recent model. I don't think that takes anything away from my car as you get a significant discount for going V1, which is how there was a 400 hp car in my garage since 2010. Hard to really criticize it from that angle, since it provided me with a lot of performance and enjoyment even while being "inferior." But I digress.

Another data point...

2017 SS 1LE - $30K, 15K miles
https://providence.craigslist.org/ctd/d ... 16982.html

Did the Gen 6 1LE come in auto? The Gen 5 didn't. Not sure this is a real 1LE, but if it is, it is the same price as a 2013 1LE...

The wheels are wrong and the transmission is wrong. Sunroof is also not available on the 1LE. That is not a real 1LE most likely.

I should buy this... Still a little high, but I am not sure this will depreciate as much as a regular SS since I am having such a hard time finding one.

Also, it is incorrectly labeled. Pretty sure this is a 1LE, definitely not a ZL1. Low miles. What is on the passenger seat???

It does seem to be a 2SS 1LE. If so yes you should buy it.

Should run the VIN to be sure. Compnine.
