RX-8s are practically free these days. They actually have a very nice chassis and a rear seat that is adequate for small children with much easier access than a traditional coupe. It's a shame they came with such a trouble-prone engine. Every once in a while I will do a quick search to see if there are any new and interesting engine swaps for the RX-8.

It's actually cool that they made those.

Problem is, the powertrains in basically all the Panther cars are so damn lame. I don't know that I'd care about one enough to swap it, either.

I agree. I like these because I like the body style, and the drivetrain is fairly bulletproof. I would just drive as a cruiser because I also agree these aren't worth trying to make fast. They seem like a comfortable commuter.
