Cars.com reports a lot of stuff was optional. Though it may be common on most of them for all I know. And I am only looking at 2005.

- MR suspension
- Sport handling (18s - maybe mandatory MR like the SRX with FE3?)
- Spoiler
- Power remote heated folding side-view door mirrors with tilt down (I don't know what part of this is the option or if these are power folding or what)
- Radar cruise (I think there is a rocker button to the left of the steering column that would tell me if I had a pic of it)
- Memory for the side mirrors? Really seems like this would be standard
- Rear sunshade (I assume power)
- Voice activated air conditioning??? lol
- Nav
- Rear A/C
- Power tilt/tele steering wheel
- Sunroof
- Heated steering wheel
- Memory seat package
- Heated rear seats
- Power lumbar
- Heated front seats were optional???
- Wood steering wheel insert
- Ventilated front seats
- 6 disc in dash
- Entertainment with DVD (rear? or what?)
- 15 speaker BOSE...this wasn't standard?? I need a goddamn brochure at this point. I have no idea what is going on.
- TPMS?
- Auto leveling headlights (I bet this was export only)
- HUD (ooooh)
- Rain sensing wipers
- HIDs???

Well that seems like a waste. Probably some inaccuracy and most of this stuff is probably bundled into common option packages.

That thing is huge.

But I still got something useful from skimming it. Basically if you get nav, you get the good audio. Many have nav so this particular part is easy. And there's probably a good chance a car with nav has a lot of other stuff. I will look through the option packages and standard stuff later on.

Definitely some stuff in here.
NV7 Premium Steering Gear, ZF
Only available on the 1SG (highest trim). I was trying basically to figure out how to identify the 1SG by things that only it can have. If I had the VIN and could generate the RPO list, I'd have everything I need. But I don't have access to that so I have to go by descriptions and pictures.

The idea of a loaded up 1SG with that rack and FE3 (with MR) does seem like it would be kind of cool. I just have no idea when I am looking at one or not.

So 18s and nav are two easy things to look for. Though I think these are actually (correctly) priced higher.

What the what.........

Dude, where's my car...

Whatever... if you can find it or the keys you can have it for $800.

Is there like a common quantity of drugs that that $800 buys?

says it has receipts so maybe that is something...

For those who like options:
V8 320 horse, with every option including XM Radio for the next five months
This one has them all at least for the next 5 months...

They talk about 1SG and the ZF rack.

Also:
The STS comes in three aromas. There's the starter-kit version ($41,690) powered by a 255-horse, 3.6-liter V-6. There's the V-8 rear-wheel-drive model ($47,495) featuring a 4.6-liter Northstar producing 320 horses, 20 more than the old STS's output. And there's a V-8 all-wheel-drive STS, with a mandatory heavy options load ($62,765) whose driveline is yanked intact from the SRX.
You want options? Cadillac's got your options right here, pal. How about four tire-and-wheel combos and three final-drive ratios? How about ventilated seats (part of the $8695 1SG package), which turn out to be the coolest feature since air conditioning? Our V-8 rear-drive test car, with the 3.42:1 axle and 18-inch all-season Michelins, arrived pretty much blinged out, lacking only a sunroof ($1200). Such profligacy bloated its sticker to $62,215, a sum that may induce chest pains in more than a few diehard Cadillackers.
3 axle ratios?? I don't even know what they were. I guess I know now that 3.42 was one of them. 2.73 may have been one of them, but I can't find that. SRX used 3.23 I think, so maybe that was one??

This is a used car buyers' nightmare. Way too many configurations to sort through.

This guy is on the hunt for a 1SG (duh) and here's what he had to say in 2014:
Been searching for just over 2 weeks now, I have driven 6 different STS all of 2005/6 vintage. I have researched and pulled vins on probably 20+ I have yet to see a single 1SG. Even searching and running VINs on cars 100-150mi away they are all either 1SF, 1SE rentals, or bare bones stripped rigs (no nav etc)

Are the 1SG just getting that much harder to find? The 1SF package is pretty nice, and every single one of them in the area that is "100% there" sells in days it seems. What is left is all the trashed rigs.

My concern is holding out for a 1SG and letting all these decent 1SF cars go by waiting for Moby Dick..?

Yes, the ZF steering (NV7) is nice for those of us that enjoy a heavy feel. It stands to reason that this would be easier on the often problematic power steering pump. I wonder if failure rates vary...

With regard to engine cooling, 1SF's could still get the Performance Cooling Package (V03). I recall a member from the Mid-east had even more cooling than available domestically. Was the RPO 1SZ?

Old hands may observe how often I post that STS trim levels address a wide range of driver preferences. Opinions vary and Cadillac knows so do their buyers. Chazglenn3 and I compared build sheets and found the most significant difference between our cars was his 'F' to my 'G' in the '1S' code.
This is a nightmare.
