Jenn doesn't like it and her fuel economy is....not great. Here are some requirements:
- Rated better than Seville (25 mpg highway, revised rating)
- Less than 20-ish years old
- No RWD preferred
- 2 doors preferred
- No leather
- No Nissan
- No european
- No domestic

I have no idea how anything other than 4 cylinder or V6 Solara or Accord coupe would fit the bill. Literally there is nothing else. What a shame. Boring choices...

The last time we went through this, I came up with the following list of cars (in no particular order):
96-00 Honda Civic (although this is discounted as she's already owned one)
91-95 Acura Legend (this might be too old)
98-03 Solara
04-08 Solara
98-02 Honda Accord Coupe (this is crossed out on my whiteboard list, but I can't remember why)
03-07 Honda Accord Coupe
03-08 Toyota Matrix
03-08 Pontiac Vibe (only because it's the same thing as the above)
95-99 Buick Riviera (although she'd hate the turning radius as it's the same as the Seville, aka terrible)
96-99 Acura CL
00-03 Acura CL
96-98 Acura TL (yes, it's a sedan, but she doesn't hate it)
99-03 Acura TL
98-04 Oldsmobile Alero (can't remember why this is on the list)
98-00 Mazda Millenia (another sedan for some reason)
89-97 Mazda Miata (probably no longer valid due to the "no RWD 'cause winter" rule)
98-05 Mazda Miata (see above)
92-00 Subaru Impreza
01-07 Subaru Impreza
97-01 Cadillac Catera (can't remember why this is on the list)
91-97 Mazda MX-6 (probably too old now)
91-96 Honda Prelude (she doesn't like the way any of the other generations look, also probably too old now)

This was one of the first cars on the list (along with the Solara), but there are a couple things working against this:
- Relatively rare
- Usually had leather
- Automatics on the later V6 cars were failure prone (like the Accord)

In addition, the 4 cyl is really the only way this car makes the fuel economy cutoff, and only just (+1 highway for 1st generation, +2 highway for 2nd generation but requires premium). Also the 4 cyl that was only available in the 1st generation. I don't thing she realizes how relatively fuel efficient the Seville actually is for the size/performance of the car (she averages 22-24 in mostly highway driving).

Yeah...there are some manual transmission options for those in there, but she'd have to learn to drive one first...

Also, there might be other things that hit most of the requirements but not all.

I wanted an MX-6 for a while, and had a 2.5L 1999 Mazda 626.

The 626 specs for the 2.5 were:
Engine, 2.5L 6 Cylinder
Horsepower - 170@6000
Torque - 163 @ 5000
Standard MPG - 20 City / 26 Hwy

https://www.motortrend.com/cars/mazda/626/1999/

They had practically the same engine, I think the MX-6 was just slightly less. The main reason I bring it up though is that it realistically won't meet the MPG requirements. I didn't get good gas mileage in that car. I would recommend either of those if gas wasn't a big deal, and I think the auto trans aren't great. It was a fun car though.

This is actually a really good review (although the 626 is a little off topic):
