Interesting. They start with what seems to be a traditional Atkinson cycle engine. What is traditional?

Apparently all the modern stuff is "simulated" with variable intake valve timing. So this would seem to be a true, mechanical Atkinson and then adding the variable compression mechanisms. The traditional Atkinson dates back to 1882.
So now the question is...does the new Blackwing V8 have this implemented? That would be something.
