Somebody actually took the time to really detail the car for sale. And scrub the whitewalls. They don't just look like that, unless the tires are literally brand new - and even then the shop usually leaves that blue crap on there. That is odd if the story here is she doesn't think the car is worth anything. I mean Bill made fun of me for wanting to wash the Ranger before listing it, so...
I wish I had a phone number or e-mail address. I am not signing up for FB. Not even for a B-body.
Maybe it has 200k on it. Maybe the interior is trashed. Admittedly there are things that could make it be worth $1200. And if it is really a $1200 car, I don't want it.
Realistically, it is probably not worth my time to pursue this kind of situation - it is too far from Bob, it "needs a battery" which could mean a million things (imagine flying down, driving out to Sanford, and dealing with god knows what other problems that weren't stated), and I just don't have a good way at present to have a conversation with the seller and answer these questions.
I can pay more to get something I trust more. That's how I feel right at the moment.
That said, I asked Bryan to ask how many miles and for interior shots. If that goes well, maybe he can get her to contact me outside of FB. It would be funny if she was the one who felt sketched out about it.
The one thing that is keeping me in the game is the 190 views on FB. Bob, what CL area would Sanford fall under? Maybe it is already on CL...

Well I searched Fayetteville, Raleigh and Greensboro. I didn't find it but I did find other sweet Roadmasters. North Carolina seems to be a good source. Wide open spaces ('Murica), no rust, and plenty of depressed areas outside of major cities
EDIT: just got a text from Bryan. Gone from FB (was posted 9 days ago). WTF?? I hate this.

Then Raleigh has a wide sampling.
1992 BUICK ROADMASTER - $1200 (Raleigh):

1993 Buick Roadmaster - $4950:

1995 Buick roadmaster - $5900 (Henderson):

That last one has 32k. Yeah. But cloth. It is really nice though. Bill will go nuts over the 80s luxury vibe. If only it was a Limited. Oh man. I actually like the exterior color.
One owner garage kept car in excellent condition. Never been smoked or eaten in seats have been covered since it was brand new. Rare find with only 32K miles on it. No scratches dents or dings.
The 93 is a white Limited with only 51k!

Looks like $5k is the going rate for the low mileage nice ones. I like that 95 from the outside, but cloth is a bit of a turn off.

I agree. The only way I could possibly talk myself into it, as I mentioned, is its similarity to my Caprice. But I know I can get mint leather seats for that price, even if I have to trade some miles for it. I care about the seats more than I do about having a 32k mile Roadmaster (though that is incredibly low).

Bob made another good point: $5k is Fleetwood money. Although I am much more likely to be stuck with the rear end it comes with. Unless I do a LOT more work to switch gears and convert to discs. When I could have just thrown my axle in it (if it was a Roadmaster).

Fleetwoods:
$1300
https://greensboro.craigslist.org/cto/5963542317.html
https://winstonsalem.craigslist.org/cto/5981962849.html
95 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham - $3100
This is an immaculate ride, very low miles at 113.5k
runs and drives smooth, good tires, like new interior
New A/C Condenser
The same Solid LT1 motor and trans that comes in a Corvette
REDUCED FROM 3250
Damn. Not bad! New A/C condenser means the A/C works. Teaser pics because posting them is annoying.

This one is a little cleaner but honestly I think I am paying a chrome wheel/detail tax here. That and the other one is, if anything, a little under priced.

Looking closer, there are probably hidden flaws which have been conveniently left out of the shot or otherwise not listed:
- The driver's seat is more tired than the overall condition would indicate - understandable for age/mileage/sun but I don't know if the price reflects it. Not really hidden I guess.
- Dash cover. Probably cracked.
- Conveniently left out the front bumper area on the side shot (pic #2). Something looks off with the chrome panel in front of the wheel, and I bet the painted panel above the bumper is sun faded.
Higher price, higher standards. The curb appeal is very high overall though. I guess it would have been ideal if it was black. Looks almost the same color as the $3100 95.
