Cars.com says the curb weight of an LS 2WD regular cab long bed is only 5,126 lbs.
It also says the 4WD as listed in the Craigslist ad is only 5,484 lbs.
Not sure if I believe these numbers. Maybe they are correct because regular cab?

Check engine light is on for the catalytic converter heater. I believe you need a new control module for that.

The rest of the world uses the engine exhaust to heat the catalytic converter and a 12V power feed to run the heater in the O2 sensor.

Because luxury.
But yeah I think the 98+ or 99+ has heated cats. For your convenience. They are quite pricey.

I am sure it was required to get that old V12 to meet modern cold start emissions.

That's terrible.
I bet an LS would fit under that hood nicely.

I guess I am not sure what you are looking to do.
The truck, and B-Body, I could see. Both would be pretty reliable, and both can be upgraded at a reasonable cost. Both would fit needs. Truck would replace the Ranger with much more capability (if that is needed) and you could potentially do that turbo LS stuff. The clean B-Body could replace your current daily, and could potentially be a turbo LS (or even NA LS, whatever you want to do).
The 7 series is a nice looking shell of a completely retarded car by every standard except cosmetic. I can't understand any reason to buy it and any talk of it is a complete waste of time. Everything on it breaks and you will be repairing it indefinitely. You will not ever have time to stop it from completely self destructing to LS swap it, and even if you do, everything that you didn't replace with the drivetrain swap will break and you will constantly be dumping money into it.
The only draw that you might say this car has is that it is cool that they made a V12, which sucks compared to an LS swap, and it sounds like the transmission for the V12 also sucks.
