If I won the lottery, this would be a nice addition to my collection:

It's a roadmaster, so it's applicable. Look at that Fireball straight 8! so cool.
Caprice engine swap?

Re: Caprice engine swap?
Yep, like 500 million or something? There has been some buzz about that lately!
The big question is would I keep my current cars if I won?
I like to think I would just keep driving them but have a really nice backup car. But that's easy to say.. now.

Looks pretty good, although is that rust behind the rear wheel in one of the pics?Fast_Ed wrote:Black (i think) LT1 with TOW PACK!! $1500 with 122k..... That might be worth looking at.

Re: Caprice engine swap?
I've actually never bought a lottery ticket. Which is interesting, because I grew up with my parents buying two tickets a week (CT lottery). One quick pick and one with the exact same numbers each time. They never won, and while everyone talks about it, no one else seems to win, either. But they do say "you can't win if you don't play."Bob wrote:Get those Powerball tickets before tomorrow night!Fast_Ed wrote:If I won the lottery, this would be a nice addition to my collection:

Re: Caprice engine swap?
If I needed a car like right now, locally, this one would be pretty tempting. It's a driver and maybe I wouldn't feel bad about driving it in snow. That's something. That would take the pressure off of buying the exact best/cleanest one. And it's 2.93 so it won't totally suck. It's not a Limited though.Bob wrote:Looks pretty good, although is that rust behind the rear wheel in one of the pics?Fast_Ed wrote:Black (i think) LT1 with TOW PACK!! $1500 with 122k..... This car is a perfect example of why I see no point to that 92, even though it's cleaner and has half the miles. It's a 20 year old car. It's not like it's more reliable with 60k than it is with 120k.

I didn't even read the full ad.Fast_Ed wrote:Yeah, that's what I saw.. Lots of people say their RMS is not that rusty. Very few say:
"NICE REAR LOWER QUARTERS =EXCELLENT FRAME WITH WAX LIKE SPRAY ON FRAME"
And then this makes me think he might actually be for real... Of course the rear axle is rusty, they all are, right?
" =SOME RUST ON REAR AXLE= "
But this concerns me a bit:
"NEEDS BRAKE LINE" Indicates that it may not be quite as rust free? I guess vibrating against the supports could cause extra rust there. My approach for future old cars was supposed to be replace all brake lines right away anyways. Why wait for a blow out? Just replace all that sh*t with Cu-Ni, which is super easy to run, no tubing bender required.. You make fewer flares when you do the whole length as well. One line to the rear end, two on the axle. I bet the fronts are fine. And a fuel pump is no big deal either, especially if there is no rust. A day of work and $300 (brake lines, fuel pump assy, tank straps), and this car is back on the road.
That's assuming you can get AAA to bring it home for you, of course. and you cant hear it run, probably, unless banging on the fuel pump gets it going.
I have a rear axle stainless set of lines on my Caprice from Classic Tube (for my disc conversion - doesn't fit drums).

There is a black & white PPV that appears to live on my street. Still has the spotlight. Wish I could afford one just for a daily.
