That's probably what it takes to get that car from 150k to 200k.

I just love how he goes through this great description, sounds like an excellent, classy car. Then the last word of the text is "Hacksaw!" Fancy.

This Roadmaster Sedan looks clean:

It's a '92 with 65k... So throttle body, with about 200k left on it. Or you could do whatever LS swap you want on it. Of course, it needs a fuel pump and brake lines. No big deal for anyone planning an LS Swap. The guy is probably just pissed because he hasnt discovered CU-NI brake lines. If he had, he might actually be keeping this car.
And it's your chance to put in new tank straps with a higher volume fuel pump for later.
Sounds like the frame was even rust treated (ANTI- rust treated), and the rear quarters are intact.
White Vinyl is a bit weird.

It's pretty clean but it needs a few things to just drive, and thus I don't think it's an outstanding deal, since it's still an L05. It is local but for not much more I can get one that's pretty much guaranteed to have no rust.

Understand about the work, but I dont think L05 would be a disqualifier for this purchase... If anything, it's more motivation to put an LS motor in. With an LT1, the gains are less and the temptation to just drive it stock is more. Especially if the car is to be a daily driver.
Now, my prediction is that time constraints would make it likely that you will drive with the stock drivetrain for quite a while... In that case maybe finding an LT1 is better. Time flies, and the LS swap could easily be a father-son project.

Yeah pretty much everything you said. One major thing I am tired of, in light of all of this seemingly effortless turbo LS hotrodding on youtube, is the power level of my L05. The rust doesn't actually change the drivability of the car...yet.
One reason I might want a 92-93 RMS is because of the full gauge package. Unfortunately, that means a 100 mph speedo.
Last night I stopped at Shell for gas. This guy fueling up one of those airport shuttle vans was really eying the car as I left the parking lot. It sounds good but I am ready for a big speed upgrade.

Here's a messed up thought...if I swapped the 92 RMS, I could pull the perfectly fine L05 and 4L60 and put it in my Caprice to freshen up the drivetrain. Except if it was worth doing that, it would be just worth keeping and swapping it instead.

ALMOST NO RUST ON BODY AND FRAME REALLY
You mean ZERO rust on body and light surface rust underneath?

Yeah, that's what I saw.. Lots of people say their RMS is not that rusty. Very few say:
"NICE REAR LOWER QUARTERS =EXCELLENT FRAME WITH WAX LIKE SPRAY ON FRAME"
And then this makes me think he might actually be for real... Of course the rear axle is rusty, they all are, right?
" =SOME RUST ON REAR AXLE= "
But this concerns me a bit:
"NEEDS BRAKE LINE" Indicates that it may not be quite as rust free? I guess vibrating against the supports could cause extra rust there. My approach for future old cars was supposed to be replace all brake lines right away anyways. Why wait for a blow out? Just replace all that sh*t with Cu-Ni, which is super easy to run, no tubing bender required.. You make fewer flares when you do the whole length as well. One line to the rear end, two on the axle. I bet the fronts are fine. And a fuel pump is no big deal either, especially if there is no rust. A day of work and $300 (brake lines, fuel pump assy, tank straps), and this car is back on the road.
That's assuming you can get AAA to bring it home for you, of course. and you cant hear it run, probably, unless banging on the fuel pump gets it going.

I know you're not a wagon guy, but this might be under values.
White on wood looks good to me! And the tan leather is nice, too. Collector's edition means you get OBDII!!
