Yeah but 750iL >> LS400
I actually LOL'd when I read this.Bob wrote:Here's one way to look at it.
Probability you are forced into daily driving the Ranger during the time you are doing the LS swap on the Caprice:
LS400 - <5%
750iL - 65%
There is no specified timing belt interval for the earlier 1UZ unless it is used as a taxi, for which the interval is 120k or something like that. Judging by the condition of the 120K one I took out of the SC400, I would say every 120-125K is about the interval they should be changed at. It can be done in half a day, the only special tool needed is the one to hold the cam gear and one to remove the harmonic balancer. Both of which I have.kevm14 wrote:I don't expect the BMW to strand me, and I know that sounds surprising. The LS400 needs ~90k (or is it 60k) timing belts...
I also have an SC400 FSM set. The powertrain stuff is the same for the 1UZ, at least on the '89-'95 ones. The later 1UZ is similar, except with OBD-2.Adam wrote:There is no specified timing belt interval for the earlier 1UZ unless it is used as a taxi, for which the interval is 120k or something like that.
