If I was looking at a 740i, I should also be looking at a Northstar STS. Or so it would seem. But I think the 740i is actually quite a bit more spacious, and nevermind the iL. GM was still in that funny mode where the CTS was bigger than the 3 but smaller than the 5, and the STS was bigger than the 5 but smaller than the 7.

See that's EXACTLY what I want. Like I said, these are 90-92 Brougham money (yes, I enjoy saying that).

$1500, but needs a PS line that runs to the rear suspension for some reason??

BTW, you can apparently get Power steering lines made at hydraulic shops. I was looking into this when I thought the saab needed one... There are at least 2 shops in warwick that may do this.

I see a lot of 2006's out there for sale... Could be a bad year... or that people want to dump them before they are 10 years old?

At any rate, they seem too new and fancy to me. Also expensive.

Check this out:
After it runs a few minutes it starts to spray power steering fluid at the driver side exhaust manifold and it starts to smoke
I would bet a small sum of money that this was the "V12 fire" issue that plagued these cars.

Yes and agreed. I think I can probably maintain 90s stuff. 2000s German stuff, no way.

Fun fact: the power difference between the M70 (296 hp and 5.0L) and M73 (320 hp and 5.4L) is 100% attributed to the displacement difference, based on the math.

Mechanically it probably is pretty solid. What could ruin the experience is stupid shit like a terrible oil leak that basically requires the engine to come out of the car to fix. Or a fire.

The one in Saugus is really nice looking. Black with tan leather is one of my favorites. And it comes in just under 7 grand.

Though, the 1990 one is more what I picture you buying. You save it, because they are just gonna let it rot there due to the PS line. It's a little dirty, probably has a coupe of needs. I know the M70 is supposed to be more challenging, but maybe some research would fix that..
