I just ordered new OEM rear rotors and pads in the hope of finally making the brakes feel right. Cost was around $230 shipped from Rockauto after the coupon code. They beat GMPartsdirect and most ebay sellers by at least $10-20.

I'm reading the Vsport owner's manual and it says to replace spark plugs at 60k miles for the LF3 and LTG engines. My car has 73k and I doubt it's been done. I probably should do this.

On the power concern, the best you can probably do is read spark retard and boost retard on a scan tool to see if there is any power being left on the table. Otherwise I'd say that Golf R was not stock.
