I think it helps just because the conditions change. More air pressure and things are in a different position.
I think adding Jeep to the launch tool is probably your best bet. But I do have the top Don top scan and I assume I am still inside my one year subscription window. I don't know if I can just lend you the dongle though. I think it's registered to the app in my phone.

Currently on sale for $54. When I get home I can check to see what the Jeep software costs through the launch tool. If it's anywhere close to $54 I might encourage you to instead buy your own top scan because while it is only good for a year it does all makes.

That link is broken I think. This one?

Re: 2014 WK2 Air Suspension
It's 10X the price, but no subscriptions:

Autel seems to be on the subscription model now too... I guess purchase +9x$50 for service is still less than the purchase of the Innova.

Re: 2014 WK2 Air Suspension
I would probably pick one from Ivan's Black Friday videos but that's generally around the cost of a lower end full featured tool that does all makes. Even ones that may offer "lifetime updates" I am skeptical of. I look at the difference as "lifetime updates" is more bug fixes and a subscription is more like active development. Especially if you think you'll just own newer and newer cars over time, I would place more value in the subscription than a large up front cost tool. And as you mentioned, you could pay for the Top Scan for 9 years before even breaking even. You most likely would need to upgrade that Innova to an entirely different tool BEFORE that 9 years. With the Top Scan, they may come out with something better as well, but you would just divert your subscription budget to whichever product you want - you didn't tie up hundreds of dollars in one tool.
To hammer on my point about vehicle age, if you really thought you were going to stick to older vehicles and not move past ~2018/2019 model years, then a buy-once tool COULD work. But I don't like the breakeven math above in this particular comparison.
I guess the final point is, for any given time past the 1 year initial subscription that you don't need the Top Scan, you just won't pay. My understanding is you can simply start paying again at any time, but for the duration that you did not, you saved on subscription fees, as modest as they are.

Re: 2014 WK2 Air Suspension
So I guess it's either the $54 topdon or $159 for another launch, or "upgrade" the existing launch to include a 2nd brand for probably $69.

I can't seem to find a "convenient" listing of either/both that clearly says that they can do full suspension diagnostic sequences... I could just pull small plastic airlines and do a "dumb" pressure/height hold test on my own and skip the electronic diagnostics.

Re: 2014 WK2 Air Suspension
I can't remember if the airlines come through the center/top of the struts - if so that might be an easy access point. I think I have some plastic airline stuff from a cheapo Amazon line kit I bought for the RV.
Re: 2014 WK2 Air Suspension
I forgot to check the cost of the Jeep software on the launch tool.

Looks like the fittings are an at least possible if not common leak point...

Re: 2014 WK2 Air Suspension
I'm not claiming ownership of the MB Launch. I just need to check the price on Jeep software. Also I'm not sure how many concurrent systems you can install on whatever memory device it uses. Perhaps it's removable.
I ordered the Top Scan on December 2024 so it should have plenty of time left on that initial year subscription.
