A few thoughts.
1) those are trouble. T-R-O-U-B-L-E. At least with a 750iL...it's a 750iL.
2) I need more than 2.5 inches of rear legroom
3) This would be a perfect Winding Road type flip. But I'm not into it.
I don't NEED AWD...the 300C w/ AWD would be somewhat interesting. But then so would an STS w/ AWD, either the first gen with the Northstar or the second gen with the 3.6 DI (probably worth too much). I wonder how much performance either of those really gives up to a first gen 300C AWD. Probably a small amount in accel, and they would certainly handle better. And have less rear seat space. But at least I wouldn't be buying a Chrysler product.
I kind of wonder what would have become of that $1,000 Volvo 850 wagon that was for sale down the street. I think that would have been a potentially good beater/daily.

There's a guy at work who had one of those and a V70R for his wife. He did a lot to the S60, eventually blew it up, and now drives the wagon..
If I had a car show with some disposeable income, this could be the poor man's version of when the Top Gear hosts bought used 100k euro cars to 'see how bad they were..'
However, if you're depending on it breaking so you can get some 'content,' it may work perfectly forever! Then you mod it until it breaks, I guess.

My problem with the S60R is that it's really only good within the narrow confines of "Swedish performance machines." Which is a pretty weird niche.

As a former S80 owner, please allow me to translate:
Clean Title in hand - I didn't steal it, I am responsible for the worst car choice of a lifetime. I am probably losing a lot of money by selling it this cheap, but not when calculating how much extra I will have to spend to keep this roadworthy for the next 3 months.
Inline 5 with 174k miles - The motors are not usually the problem
6 speed manual transmission - This could need a clutch
Brand new clutch just put in - This doesn't need a clutch, and since it is a Volvo, it probably cost $1,000 more to replace this one than any other clutch in the history of clutches
Motor runs quite and strong - So strong it will break it's own motor mount.
Transmission shifts smooth - I mean, I did spend ridiculous money to replace the clutch
Everything Works - today
Leather heated seats - the leather is the shittiest quality leather on the planet, it you look at it wrong it rips/cracks/shreds to nothing.
Cold air hot heat - Cold air when you want hot heat?
Won't need inspection until 2017 - so don't worry, all kinds of shit will break between now and then, but you don't have to fix it because this is only $3,500 and that isn't bad to drive this for almost 2 years.
Good matching tires - I guess when you have nothing else good to say...
Lots of power she's a Monster - She's a monster. One that steals $1,000 every month when it needs something fixed. Or could mean: She's a monster that spews gas and power steering fluid out of multiple places. (Ask me how I know)
